Pfizer Inc is proud to present its Medical & Academic Partnerships (MAP)
grants and awards — a reflection of Pfizer’s commitment to advancing research,
innovation, and education in academic medicine, health literacy, health
disparities, health policy, and public health.
On this Web site, you will find information about 15 MAP grant and award
programs which provide financial support for fellows, scholars, and host
institutions in a wide range of therapeutic areas, health literacy topics, and
public health issues. Independent academic advisory boards made up of leaders
in each program’s field select recipients of these nationally competitive MAP
grants and awards. These boards also help direct the structure and scope of
MAP’s programs to optimize the impact of the innovation they support.
Information about additional Pfizer grant programs is also available.
To learn more about a specific MAP program, you may search in several ways: by
eligibility,
therapeutic area or discipline,
or
program type. For an overview of this
year’s MAP grant offerings and some additional Pfizer programs, visit the
index page. To start the application process, click on the Apply for a
Grant link above or click on the Apply Online link from a specific grant’s
page.
Our Fellowships and Scholars Grants — career-building opportunities for
academic researchers in basic, outcomes, and patient-oriented research — are
key among these efforts. In addition, the Pfizer Visiting Professorships
continue to be a resource for in-depth, clinically focused exchange between
medical schools, host organizations, and outside scholar-scientists.
Since its inception in 1984, Pfizer has sponsored more than 900 MAP grants,
supporting innovative research and enhancing education for scholars and
institutions across the United States. To search for MAP alumni, as well as
current and past board advisors, visit the
MAP
Directory of Grant Recipients & Board Members.
Every year, members of MAP’s academic advisory boards meet in New York City to
select award recipients. Beginning in 2005, MAP also provides an opportunity
for these board members, as well as current award recipients, academic and
medical leaders, to participate and engage in dialogue through the congenial
setting of the Medical Futures Forum. To view highlights from this year’s
event, visit the Pfizer
Medical Futures Forum page.
Another of our objectives is the development of leadership for tomorrow.
Through partnered programs such as the National Institutes of Health Clinical
Research Training Program, MAP is working to strengthen the momentum needed for
progress in specific areas of patient care.
At Pfizer, we are proud to support the innovators and ideas that help make
better treatments and cures possible.
